A1 Roofing Colchester

At Mikra Services, A1 Roofing Colchester, we understand that refelting a roof can be a significant investment for homeowners and businesses in Essex. As a specialist flat roofing company with over 12 years of experience, we're here to provide you with a detailed guide on the costs involved in refelting a roof in Essex.

Refelting a roof involves replacing the existing felt layer with a new one, ensuring a watertight seal and protecting your property from the elements. The process typically includes:

• Removing the existing felt layer
• Inspecting and repairing any damaged roof decking or joists
• Applying a new layer of felt, ensuring a secure and watertight seal
• Installing new flashing and edging to prevent water ingress

The cost of refelting a roof in Essex can vary depending on several factors, including:

• Roof size: Larger roofs require more materials and labor, increasing the overall cost.
• Material choice: The type and quality of felt used can impact the cost. We use only top-quality materials from trusted manufacturers.
• Roof complexity: Roofs with multiple valleys, skylights, or other features may require more labor and materials, increasing the cost.
• Scaffolding: Depending on the roof's height and accessibility, scaffolding may be required, adding to the overall cost.

On average, the cost to refelt a roof in Essex can range from £40 to £70 per square meter, depending on the factors mentioned above. For a typical residential roof, the total cost can range from £2,000 to £5,000 or more.

• Removing existing tiles or slates: If you're replacing an existing tile or slate roof with a felt roof, you'll need to factor in the cost of removing the existing tiles or slates.
• New scaffolding: If scaffolding is required, you can expect to pay an additional £500 to £1,000 or more, depending on the roof's height and complexity.
• Senior member discount: At Mikra Services, we offer a discount for senior members of the community. Please contact us for more information.
